Dielectric Elastomers Also Known As Electronic Muscles - now DIY at home

by | | 0 comment(s)

Recently, I sat down with Stacy Hunt to talk about electronic muscles. He's built a DIY kit for makers wanting to work with them at home and what's unique about his solution, is that they self heal.

Usually, a tiny hole in the elastomer means it's burnt out but these contracting little guys kept pumping after an application of an oil and a little relaxation time.

They really become useful when rolled into tubes or layered into piles and in the second half you can see what Stacy has been up to here.

Click, watch, enjoy.

You can find out more, contact Stacy and maybe even pick up a kit from http://www.biomym.com/
