    Advanced Spool Management System

    Smart Material Recognition System

    Bambu Lab filaments feature integrated RFID technology that enables the AMS to instantly detect material type and configure optimal printing parameters automatically. Each slot includes a dedicated RFID coil that reads material properties including brand, type, color, and nozzle temperature requirements.

    RFID data synchronizes seamlessly with Bambu Studio for streamlined workflow management, eliminating guesswork and ensuring every print uses precisely calibrated settings for superior results.

    Non Bambu Lab Filaments need to be manually configured in Bambu Studio or in the printer.

    AMS lite Technical Specifications

    Product dimensions measure 397 x 208 x 342 mm with a total weight of 1.6 kg, making it compact enough for desktop setups while maintaining stability during operation. The transparent housing design allows real-time observation of internal mechanisms, enabling quick identification of potential issues without disassembly.

    Advanced Sensor Technology

    Each feeder unit incorporates sophisticated monitoring systems including filament detection sensors that track material presence and odometer wheels with passive rotation tracking to calculate dispensed filament length with precision. Speed sensors positioned at DC motor bases compare motor velocity against actual filament movement, instantly detecting slippage or feeding issues before they cause print failures.

    An integrated tangle detection module above the tool head features a spring-loaded filament hub with magnetic Hall sensors that trigger alerts when feed resistance becomes excessive, preventing costly print failures and material waste.

    Setup and Installation Process

    The A1 series printers support connection to one AMS lite unit, enabling up to 4-color printing capabilities with automatic material switching between slots. Note that AMS lite is exclusively compatible with A1 series printers and cannot be used with X1 or P1 series models, which require the standard AMS system instead.

    Package Contents

    Each AMS lite package includes the complete automatic material system with pre-configured PTFE tubes cut to appropriate lengths for your specific printer model. PTFE tube configurations vary by setup: A1 combo systems use 730mm and 850mm lengths (two each), while A1 Mini configurations require shorter 580mm and 700mm tubes to minimize feed resistance and prevent false tangle detection alerts.

    The modular feeder design features left and right units corresponding to specific slot positions, with the left feeder controlling slots 1-2 and right feeder managing slots 3-4. For optimal stability during operation, position heavier spools in slots 2 and 3, while lighter materials work best in slots 1 and 4 to maintain a lower center of gravity.
