Hi, Sam here. I do a fair chunk of the first-line support at MindKits, which means I see the same questions come through over and over. Where's the filament meant to go? Why's my print a spaghetti monster? Is this noise normal?
Most of it's stuff that gets sorted in the first half hour of owning a printer, if someone shows you. So here's the thing a lot of customers don't realise: on a bunch of our Bambu Lab printers, that half hour is free.
What you actually get
Buy an eligible machine and a 30 minute onboarding session with Jase gets added to your cart automatically. It normally sells for $99 on its own. No code, no form, no mucking about.
Jase goes through the stuff that matters in week one. Loading filament without it tangling. Getting the first layer to stick. Which slicer settings are worth touching and which ones to leave alone. And the bits of basic maintenance that'll save you from a repair bill down the track (we do fix printers, $30 diagnosis, but I'd rather you didn't need us).
It's tailored to you too. If you've never printed anything, he starts from zero. If you've run an Ender for five years and just want to know what's different about a Bambu, he'll skip the basics.
Which printers it's on
Right now it's included with the Bambu Lab A1 Mini ($349), the A1 ($599), the P1S ($849), and the H2D range, starting with the H2D AMS Combo at $4,349 and going up through the bundles and the H2D Pro. All prices GST inc.
The bigger machines are where it really earns its keep. An H2D with an AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT hanging off it is a lot of kit to get your head around on your own.
The honest bit
It's not on every machine we sell. If you add a printer to your cart and the free session doesn't show up, it's not on that one. That's not us being sneaky, it's just how this deal's set up. If you're unsure, flick us a message before you buy and we'll tell you straight.
And if your machine isn't covered, or you've already got a printer and want a hand, the 30 minute session is still $99 to book on its own. There are longer training sessions too if you're setting up a classroom or a small business.
Anyway. If you're about to buy a printer, make sure you use the session. Book it in early while everything's new. You'll save yourself heaps of frustration, and to be fair, you'll save me a few support chats too.
Check out the onboarding session here.
Cheers,
Sam
